21 Casino Payment Methods
Every way to move money in and out of 21 Casino from Ireland — in euro, with the limits, the real timings and the reasons payments fail.
The short answer
21 Casino takes Visa and Mastercard debit, Trustly open-banking transfers, Revolut Pay, Apple Pay, the Jeton wallet, SEPA bank transfer and a handful of cryptocurrencies. The minimum is €20 everywhere, the maximum per transaction is €50,000, and the casino adds nothing on top. Deposits land instantly on everything except SEPA. Payouts run from a few hours on crypto to three to five working days on a bank transfer, and they go back to the method you paid in with.
Bank rails: Trustly and SEPA
Two things get called "bank transfer" and they behave nothing alike. Trustly is an open-banking payment: you pick your bank from a list, log in through your own banking app, approve, and you are back on the casino with the balance already updated. AIB, Bank of Ireland, Permanent TSB, Revolut and N26 all sit behind it. Nothing about your card is involved, which is why it survives when a card is being fussy.
A SEPA credit transfer is the old-fashioned version: the casino gives you an IBAN and a reference, you push the money from your banking app, and it arrives when the banks feel like moving it. In practice that is same day if you send before mid-morning on a working day, and Tuesday if you send on a Friday evening. It is the slowest way in and there is no reason to use it for a deposit unless a card and Trustly have both failed you.
On the way out the ranking flips. A SEPA payout is the method most people end up on for anything sizeable, because the closed-loop rule caps how much can go back to a card or a wallet. Three to five working days is the honest range; two happens, and so does a week when a payout leaves on the Thursday before a bank holiday.
Trustly — use it when
You want the deposit to land now and you would rather not put a card number anywhere. Also the sane choice if your card issuer keeps blocking gambling merchants.
SEPA — use it when
You are taking out more than you put in, or the amount is larger than a card payout will carry. Send the reference exactly as given or it sits in a queue for a human to match.
Wallets: Revolut Pay, Apple Pay, Jeton
Revolut is close to a default second bank in Ireland now, and Revolut Pay is the wallet route most players here reach for. It behaves like Trustly — approve in the app, done — but it also comes back as a payout method, usually within a day. The one thing to know before you start is the gambling block buried in the app's security settings; it is the single most common reason an Irish deposit bounces. There is a full Revolut Pay page covering the limits, the payout timings and how to turn that block off.
Apple Pay is a deposit-only convenience. It is not really a separate method — it is your debit card with the card number hidden behind Face ID, so it inherits your card's limits and your issuer's opinion of gambling merchants. Nothing comes back to Apple Pay; a payout goes to the underlying card or to your bank.
Jeton is the classic e-wallet of the three: you top it up, you pay from the balance, and money comes back into the wallet in roughly six to twenty-four hours. Faster than a card payout, slower than crypto. Worth setting up only if you play regularly enough that a day's difference matters, because you have to fund and verify the wallet itself first.
Debit cards, and why credit cards are a bad idea
A Visa or Mastercard debit card issued in Ireland is still the path of least resistance. Deposit is instant, the minimum is €20, and the payout comes back to the same card in one to three working days — the "one to three" is your issuer's clearing schedule, not the casino's. Once the payout has left the casino it is out of anyone's hands but your bank's.
Credit cards are a different animal. Most Irish issuers treat a gambling payment as a cash advance, which means interest from the moment the transaction posts, no interest-free window, and a handling fee on top. You can end up paying five or six euro to move fifty. Several issuers simply refuse the merchant category outright. If a credit card is the only thing that will go through, that is worth reading as a signal rather than a workaround.
Prepaid and gift cards do go in on some processors, but nothing comes back to them. A payout then has to be redirected to a verified bank account, which adds a verification round trip and days you did not plan for. Deposit from something money can return to.
Why a payment gets declined
In order of how often it is actually the cause, going by the messages Irish players send us:
1. A gambling block on your account
Revolut, N26, AIB and Bank of Ireland all have one. Revolut's is the noisiest because it can switch itself back on. Turning it off is instant in some apps and takes a cooling-off period in others.
2. Merchant category refused
Typical of credit cards and of some business accounts. The card is fine and the balance is fine; the issuer just will not send money to that class of merchant. Nothing on the casino side fixes it.
3. Name mismatch
The card or bank account has to be in the account holder's own name. A joint account where you are second-named, or a card in a shortened version of your name, will pass the deposit and then stall the first withdrawal.
4. Daily limit already used
Your own deposit limit, or the bank's daily card ceiling. The casino message is generic either way, so check the banking app before you assume the casino is at fault.
One thing not to do: retry the same payment five times in a row. Repeated declines on a gambling merchant are exactly the pattern fraud systems look for, and a card that was merely blocked can end up frozen. Change the method instead, or wait a few hours.
Every method, side by side
| Method | Min | Max per transaction | Deposit speed | Payout speed | Fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visa / Mastercard debit | €20 | €50,000 | Instant | 1–3 working days | None |
| Trustly | €20 | €50,000 | Instant | Up to 24 hours | None |
| Revolut Pay | €20 | €50,000 | Instant | 2–24 hours | None |
| Apple Pay | €20 | Card limit | Instant | Not available | None |
| Jeton | €20 | €50,000 | Instant | 6–24 hours | None |
| SEPA bank transfer | €20 | €50,000 | 1–2 working days | 3–5 working days | Your bank may charge |
| Bitcoin | €20 equivalent | €50,000 | Instant | 0–6 hours | Network fee only |
| Ethereum | €20 equivalent | €50,000 | Instant | 0–12 hours | Network fee only |
Payout timings are measured from the moment a request clears the pending stage, not from the moment you press the button. Pending review adds up to 24 hours, longer at weekends — the withdrawal times page breaks that part down.
How it looks on your statement
The line on your statement will not say "21 Casino". Online casinos route card and wallet payments through a payment services provider, and it is the provider's registered name that prints — typically something neutral plus a two-letter country code, occasionally with a reference number tacked on. That trips people up in two directions: they scan a statement, do not see the casino name, and assume the deposit failed; or they see an unfamiliar merchant, assume fraud, and ring the bank.
Before you report anything as unauthorised, match the amount and the date against your casino transaction history. A chargeback raised against a deposit you actually made will close your account and, in most terms, forfeit whatever balance is in it. If you genuinely do not recognise a payment, contact casino support first and let them identify the processor.
The practical upshot: if you keep any kind of budget spreadsheet, note the processor name the first time you see it. Nobody remembers it the second time.
Mistakes that cost people days
Leaving verification until the first withdrawal
Documents are checked once, and the check happens whether you do it on day one or on the day you want your money. Doing it while the balance is still small costs you nothing and removes the longest delay from the payout you actually care about.
Depositing from four different methods
The closed loop applies per method. Deposit €50 by card, €50 by Trustly and €50 by Revolut and a €150 payout may be split three ways, each with its own clock. One method in, one payout out.
Cancelling a pending withdrawal to keep playing
Reversing a payout back into the balance restarts the pending clock from zero, and some sessions of "just one more" end with nothing to withdraw. Take the money out, then decide separately whether to deposit again.
Withdrawing with an active bonus balance
If wagering is unfinished, a withdrawal request will usually strip the bonus and anything won from it. Check what is left to turn over before you press it — the bonuses page has the arithmetic.

Payment questions
What is the minimum deposit at 21 Casino?
EUR 20 on every method. There is no cheaper route in — the minimum is the same on a debit card, on Trustly, on Revolut Pay and on a SEPA transfer.
Does 21 Casino charge a fee on deposits or withdrawals?
No fee is added by the casino on either side. Charges you do see come from your own provider — a card issuer treating the payment as a cash advance, or a bank charging for an outbound SEPA transfer.
Can I deposit with one method and withdraw to another?
Usually not. Payouts follow the closed-loop rule: money goes back the way it came, up to the amount you deposited. Anything above that is paid to a method you have verified, most often a bank account in your own name.
Why was my 21 Casino deposit declined?
In Ireland the most common cause is a gambling block on the account — Revolut, N26 and the pillar banks all offer one, and it is on by default in some app versions. After that: an expired card, a daily limit already used, or an issuer that refuses gambling merchant codes on credit cards.
How does 21 Casino appear on a bank statement?
Not as the brand name. The line shows the payment processor the operator uses, usually with a company name and a country code, so it is easy to miss when you scan a statement for the casino name.
Sorted your method?
Deposit from something the money can come back to, verify before you need to, and the rest of it takes care of itself.
